Have you ever listened to an album and thought, “Damn, this is so good!”? This was my reaction when listening to Anthrax’s Among the Living for the first time.
Anthrax was a band I always knew of, but never listened to much beyond “Bring Tha Noize” and “Madhouse”. I’m not really sure why, I just never gave them a chance.
I started listening to thrash metal almost exclusively starting back in January or February of this year to get some influences for my band Brain Rott. I finally gave Anthrax a shot and checked out Among the Living.
Whoa. I was immediately hooked! “Caught in a Mosh” and “One World” have some absolutely sick riffs that blew me away.
What have I been doing my whole life not knowing about this album?! Better late than never I suppose!
If you’re a fan of the genre, but haven’t checked out this album, do yourself a favor and give it a whirl!
